Originally issued in 1960 under the title "Having A Good Time", US Ace LP 1004. Recordings made in mono between 1957 and 1960.

"Little Liza Jane" is a traditional folk song.

Release date confirmed from archive copy of Record Mirror, March 1965.

Compiled from a selection of singles, mainly A sides, all recorded in mono and all following a distinct format with piano up front and a band, with a group of singers singing straightforward happy-go-lucky songs, this is very much the product of its time. Smith's main successes are all in this compilation, and more recent CD compilations choose mostly the same material. The recording quality is variable. The front cover features "The Wedding Dance" by Netherlandish artist Bruegel, a work of art from 1566, depicting peasants celebrating, now in the collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts, Michigan.
