Drummer, singer and song writer Julius W. “Jimmy” Mullins (Mercy Baby) was born in Forrest County, Mississippi, on March 12, 1930. He first recorded as a drummer on “What will Lucy Do” by guitarist and singer Frankie Lee Sims, who plays guitar on the track "Mercy's Blues".
Mr. Mullins gave up music and worked in property maintenance until he died tragically in Dallas, Texas in the early hours of September 10, 1977 after being shot in the neck after an altercation.
