Singer, multi instrumentalist and song writer Wilburt Lee Smith Snr. (Lee Diamond) was born on August 18, 1932 and died in 1985. He was closely involved in the 1950s with Specialty Records and Little Richard, and was a member of the famous “Upsetters”. They also functioned as a backing band for Otis Redding. The band appeared miming to their hit records in a number of 1950s films.
