The Hollywood Argyles were a studio group assembled by producers Kim Fowley (1939-2015) and Gary S. Paxton (1939-2016). Their hit recording was “Alley Oop”.
The personnel are understood to have included Ronnie Silico (drums), Gaynel Hodge (piano), Harper Cosby (bass), Derry Weaver, Marshall Leib and Sandy Nelson (screams, tambourine and garbage can). The background singers included Dallas Frazier, Buddy Mize, Scott Turner, and a woman named Diane.
“Alley Oop”/”Sho know a lot about love” was previously released on London American HL-U 9146 in July 1960.
