Shirley and Lee were record producer Shirley Mae Goodman who was born in New Orleans on June 19, 1936 and died in California from conditions following a stroke on July 5, 2005, and was buried in her home New Orleans.
Her singing partner, Leonard Lee was born in New Orleans on June 29, 1936, became a social worker and died of a heart attack on October 23, 1976, age 40.
“Let the good times roll” was made in 1956 and was a million selling record. Sue released it on the sampler LP “This is Sue”. Shirley and Lee re-recorded their signature song for subsequent labels.
Shirley Goodman also recorded the vocal track for the disco record "Shame Shame Shame" for her friend Sylvia Robinson of All Platinum Records, which was a hit recording in 1974.
