Bandleader, composer, music publisher and guitarist James "Jimmy" Oliver worked at Sue Records in New York from the late 1950s to the 1960s. When the guitarist with the vocal group The Drifters, Walter Adams, died, Jimmy Oliver replaced him. Oliver was also leader of the house band at a night club in New York.
He composed his recording of "The Sneak" in 1958 and in the same year backed and produced "Itchy Twitchy Feeling" for former Drifters singer Bobby Hendricks. In 1965 Sue released an album of "Jimmy Oliver and his Soul Twisters" featuring cover versions of current soul hits.
We have not been able to find any further information about Jimmy Oliver, can anyone help please.
